Essential cliff drainage works to take place next week
7:30am Friday 27th September 2013 in News
ESSENTIAL cliff drainage works are to be carried out at Holland-on-Sea from next week.
Tendring Council’s engineering team is undertaking the scheme which will begin on and will take around four weeks to complete.
The council said existing drainage is past its best and not working, causing water to come out of the cliff face and run down the back of the retaining wall, pushing the wall onto beach huts on the Lower Promenade.
The team will be putting in new drainage, a new retaining wall and a new beach hut platform.
The site where the works will be taking place is below Kings Parade, opposite the Kingscliff Hotel.
Four beach huts on the Lower Promenade will need to be removed temporarily to create access to the area.
