THE head teacher of a Brightlingsea school given a glowing report by inspectors has been drafted in to help to run another that’s been told it must do better.
Nardeep Sharma, executive principal at Brightlingsea’s Colne Community School, has been drafted in to work at Colchester’s Philip Morant School for two days a week until July next year.
Colne Community College was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in March while Philip Morant, Colchester’s biggest secondary, was told in May it required improvement.
Mr Sharma will be joined at Philip Morant by Catherine Hutley, a deputy head at Colne, who will work as an associate headteacher.
Rob James, a former deputy headtacher at Philip Morant, was appointed as acting headteacher from September 1. He will continue until next September, when a full-time head will be appointed.
