Thorpe: Huge tailbacks caused by bus crash
11:40am Thursday 19th September 2013 in News
TRAFFIC was brought to a halt in Thorpe after a crash between a bus and a car.
The crash, which saw a bus collide with a Hyundai Amica, happened at the junction between Station Road and Abbey Street at about 8.30am.
No one was injured but the street was blocked, causing huge tailbacks through Thorpe.
Police say it caused “significant congestion”, and officers attended the scene in a bid to provide traffic control and keep cars moving during rush hour.
The road was eventually cleared at about 9.25am allowing traffic to flow smoothly again.
