Mums to the pre-school rescue
7:30am Wednesday 25th September 2013 in News
A MUM duo have opened their own pre-school after the village church announced it would be closing after ten years.
St Michael’s Church ran a pre school in Kirby Cross from Baker Hall but in April announced it would be closing at the end of the school year.
Dawn Peal-Shankar and Karen Withams, who have five children between them, then stepped into the breach and opened Gingerbread Pre-School.
During the summer the new managers and the church have redecorated the inside of the hall, while a contractor has painted the outside.
The pre-school, which is a registered charity, cares for youngsters in Kirby Cross and the surrounding villages aged between two and four years old.
Opening hours are 9 to 12 during term time.
