Clacton runner completes half marathon for charity
4:00pm Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
A KEEN runner from Clacton took part in a 13-mile London run to raise cash for charity.
Clacton-based publisher and film extra Chris Cowlin took part in the Run to the Beat half marathon to support Health Poverty Action.
The charity works to improve health care and services in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Mr Cowlin ran the London Marathon for Health Poverty Action last year, and has now boosted its coffers again by completing the half marathon route around the streets of London.
He completed the run in two hours and 47 minutes and raised more than £250.
Mr Cowlin said: “It's always great to be involved in charity events like these as they are fantastic experiences and it’s a great feeling when you are raising much needed funds for great charities.
"I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me. I didn’t get the best time but I loved taking part, that's the main thing."
