MORE than £40,000 has been raised for a cancer charity in an endurance relay.
TEAMS battled through the night in a 24-hour relay event in Clacton on Saturday in aid of Cancer Research.
The Relay for Life event was held at the Alton Park Junior school from 11am and saw teams of all ages take it in turns to wander round the course through the day and night.
More than £47,000 has been raised for Cancer Research as part of the day and committee chairperson Sharon Bateman could not have been happier with the efforts.
The Relay for Life event is an official Cancer Research event held across the country to signify that cancer never sleeps.
