Show for Tom
6:00pm Friday 6th September 2013 in News
FRIENDS of a teenager battling a rare cancer will be putting on a fundraising show in his honour.
Tom Bowdidge, 19, was diagnosed with an aggressive stomach cancer last year with doctors not expecting him to survive past Christmas.
But still fighting the cancer almost a year on, he and his loved ones have already raised more than £100,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Now, Jess Jaensch from Clacton will be hosting a variety show at the town’s West Cliff Theatre in Tower Road to add to the funds.
Jess, also 19, said: “It’s so special to be able to help Tom.
“He’s always been the class clown making people laugh but he is an inspiration, he’s so positive and strong.”
Jess has organised a night of entertainment by teenagers and young people taking place this Sunday.
There will be magic from illusionist Scott Pepper, music from solo singers, musical theatre from the West Cliff Theatre Youth Group and dance from Clacton’s The Company.
Tickets are £8 for adults, concs including students £7, and family of four tickets £28 from the West Cliff Theatre box office on 01255 433344.
