Frinton: Fun day success for Only Cowards Carry campaign
9:00am Sunday 1st September 2013 in News
A FRINTON coffee shop launched a fun day to boost an anti-knife crime campaign.
Jose Coffee, in Connaught Avenue, hosted the event to support the Only Cowards Carry campaign, set up after the death of Clacton teenager Jay Whiston.
Jay was stabbed to death in Colchester last year and his family created the campaign in his name to educate youngsters about the danger of weapons.
The coffee shop fun day brought masses of visitors in over Bank Holiday Monday to take part in the raffle, enjoy a barbecue and watch the entertainment on show.
Organiser Jill Joslin from the coffee shop said: “We try to have a charity day once a year to support a local cause.
“Most of the kids who we have working here knew Jay so it seemed fitting to do it for him this year. It went brilliantly."
