Walton: Councillor calls for neglected garden improvement
3:00pm Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
A TOWN councillor has called for a neglected overgrown garden in Walton to be tackled to improve the look of the town.
The green area behind the town’s lifeboat station – once used as a putting green – is thought to belong to Tendring council.
Walton councillor Alec Moss said: “The gardens behind the lifeboat station look totally neglected. The thistles are growing up to waist height.
“Anyone seeing that will get a very poor first impression of our town.
“We need something done about it. I’m not sure why this has been allowed to get to this state when most Walton are very well maintained.”
