PLANS for a million-pound visitor centre at Walton’s Naze have been officially submitted.
Designs for the centre were unveiled in January and have now been submitted to Tendring Council.
It has been designed to showcase the Naze and boost tourism in the area.
If it is given the go ahead, the centre will be built at the top of the cliffs near the Naze Tower.
Essex Wildlife Trust devised the plans and is currently pulling £1million in funding together to make the building possible.
Trust boss John Hall said: “The Naze is a unique feature of the Essex coast and the proposed centre will explain the wildlife and heritage importance of this superb site.
“We have done a lot of work on the designs and towards the application and believe the proposals will be good for the town of Walton and good for local people."
