Clacton: School wants memorial garden for cancer victim Eve

Teachers to set up memorial garden.
HEARTBROKEN staff and pupils are raising cash for a special memorial garden at the school.
Eve Cross, a science teacher at Clacton County High School, died after a battle with breast cancer last year.
She succumbed to the disease in November aged just 29.
Now students and colleagues have moved to create the memorial garden in her memory.
Close friend and fellow science teacher Sue Barke said: “Eve was a big part of our department and the school, and we really wanted to make some kind of memorial."
The staff and students put their heads together and decided on the memorial garden with a pond as the centrepiece.
Sue added: “This is very much in the early stages. We have held cake sales and a car wash, and we are nearly at the £300 mark.
“I think it will be a very fitting tribute, but we really need a sponsor to help us complete the garden.”
Anyone who can help by contributing to the memorial project should contact the school on 01255 424266.
