Clacton carnival picks local charity to support

CLACTON Carnival organisers have picked a charity to donate their procession profits to.

The carnival association will hand over the cash to the Clacton and District Occupational Workshops, which runs sessions to boost adults with disabilities.

Cash will go towards vital roof insulation at the charity’s Old Road centre.

Nicky Freeman, from the carnival association said: “We received numerous requests from local organisations this year.

“After very careful consideration the association has chosen to support CADOWS, which is a very worthy local project that helps a lot of people.”

The rest of the money raised through the carnival week will be divided between other charities in the area.

Clacton Carnival week will kick off with the procession on Saturday August 10 at 6pm.
