A “REMARKABLE” woman who once appealed for a kidney donor in the Gazette has died less than a year after being donated the life-saving organ.

Sharon Moor had waited six years for a donor match when she was given a transplant in July 2012.

But despite the kidney being accepted by her body, Miss Moor, of Heath Road, in Tendring, died suddenly on Saturday, March 1, of acute pancreatitis.

“Sharon was a remarkable woman,” said sister Jacqui Volf, 44.

“She was the type of woman who lit up the room when she walked in.

“She was an inspiration to everyone."

A private service at Weeley Crematorium will take place next Thursday, March 21 and an open service will be held at 12pm at St Mary’s church, in Dedham.
