Young girl hit by car in Clacton

A YOUNG girl was struck by a car as she dashed across a road.
The child was hit by a car on Old Road in Clacton after leaving a shop and running across the road without looking.
Police and paramedics were on the scene in minutes to help the girl, who is thought to be about five years-old.
It happened on Sunday evening.
The girl had a lucky escape, suffering only minor injuries.
She was taken to Colchester General Hospital as a precaution.
