A GRANDMOTHER has hit out after finding a hard bone in her granddaughters fishfingers.

Sarah Hazel gave little 22 month old Colbie a fishfinger sandwich for lunch.

But when the tot spat out part of her food she picked it up and found a hard piece of bone inside.

“I had a look and it was a piece of bone about 1.5cm long.

“The bone was quite hard, she could have got it lodged in her gum or throat or choked."

A spokesman from Iceland, where the own brand fishfingers were purchased, apologised for the distress the find could have caused and said further investigations would be carried out.

Unfortunately that is one of the main problems with the cheaper food stuffs. Many times people don't even notice and continue eating. Children are much more particular and careful.

Although it's a bit wrong what else do you expect when you buy 40 fish fingers for 2 quid, that the chance when you buy low value food, get over it, why is this news?? Nice to see the youngster is getting a good balanced healthy diet!

I agree with trojan.
them cost effective fish fingers are just fine for what they are.
I eat them often, and find them ok.
If we want top quality fish fingers, we must pay top quality prices.
I was shopping in Icelands local to me store yesterday, and noticed a named brand of fish fingers on offer,
but they are no longer traditional cod fish fingers, but other white type fish as a cost effective substitute.
you pay your money and take your choice these days.

I thought we had finished with all the horse jokes, no more long faces plz. I understand it was the mane bit of news for a while bit I certainly would not like to be saddled with writing about it every day. I have eaten horse meat, was OK but did give me the trots, and that the end of my tale, hay! just off to the bridle shop

I will not be telling any "horse" jokes but it did take the Jimmy Saddle inquiry out of the headlines
