Frating A120 - Icy road causes four-car crash

FOUR drivers had a lucky escape after a crash on an icy stretch of road.
It happened on the downward-sloped slip road running onto the A120 from the Frating roundabout direction at about 10am.
The cars each slid on the ice, with one driver forcing his van into the verge to avoid smashing into one of the vehicles.
Peter Halliday was driving one of the vehicles and said: "It was so slippery underfoot, like a skating rink. I’m amazed no one was seriously hurt. We had a very lucky escape.”
Traffic police arrived within ten minutes to direct cars around the worst area. Paramedics were called to the scene as a precaution but no one was seriously hurt.
