Clacton: Drivers stopped in police crackdown

MORE than 150 drivers were stopped in a massive police crackdown.
Officers joined forces with trading standards and customs fuel testers for the operation on Thursday.
In total 161 vehicles were stopped around Clacton. Cautions were handed out to 85 people who were not wearing seatbelts.
There were also 14 mobile phone offences, five vehicles without insurance and 19 without current MOT certificates.
Seven vehicles were seized because people had no insurance or licence.
One driver was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt and police found he was wanted for a separate offence.
The 27 year-old man from Clacton will appear at Colchester Magistrates Court on March 26 after being charged with theft.
