More homes in Jaywick to benefit from energy scheme
3:00pm Saturday 9th March 2013 in News
MORE homes in one of the country’s most deprived wards are being made energy efficient.
Energy Alliance has launched the third phase of its Insulating Jaywick scheme.
Clacton MP Douglas Carswell officially opened the company’s Jaywick project office on Friday.
It is hoped the scheme will help to lower fuel bills for residents and has already seen 130 homes benefit from up to £10,000 of free energy improvement measures, including external wall and loft insulation, draught proofing and replacement boilers.
Energy Alliance’s managing director, Kevin Griffin said: “It is gratifying to be able to continue our support in an area of most need.
“We were delighted to welcome Mr Carswell to site and to have the opportunity to show him how the government’s programme for energy reduction translates at grass roots, producing real results in real homes for real people.”
The next phase could see hundreds more homes benefit as part of the government’s new Energy Company Obligation scheme.
