New carnival queen crowned for Walton
A PROUD mum is delighted to see her daughter follow in her footsteps as Walton carnival queen.
Annette Twin was carnival queen in Walton in 1979.
Now she will get to see daughter Amy, 15, take up the role for the coming year after the teenager was picked by a panel of judges.
Annette said: “Amy always said when she was old enough she would go for carnival queen.
“She followed through on it this year and got the title at the first attempt. I’m very proud of her.
“I think she’s really looking forward to it.”
Amy is joined in the Walton carnival royal court by princesses Lesley Hayes and Holly Thurgood, both ten years-old.
