Food bank service to slash deprivation in Walton
A VITAL food bank service will be set up to provide for needy people in Walton.
Organiser Jane Robinson, of Walton Road, has been working on the scheme for several weeks.
The food bank will act as an emergency supply which can be distributed those who are struggling to buy food themselves.
Jane said: “There are large pockets of people in Walton who are struggling and in dire need of help.
“This would be an enormous help to a lot of people and really boost our community."
Jane has started collecting food to build up the stock.
She has been offered a storage space at Walton Community Centre and will run the project from there.
Suitable candidates for help from the food bank will be referred to organisers through official channels, such as the police and social services.
Anyone interested in helping or with ideas to boost the scheme should email Jane at jane.robinson2007@gmail.com.

jaceylacey might also have gone on to mention tatoos, but constraint dictated otherwise.
Opportunity and choice - a rule of economics to do with spending.
Lack of opportunity (no job, no money, no future) and choice (what is there to do here for the poor in Walton).
This woman is doing something creditable and fulfilling a need.
She is to be applauded.
Unlike the Great and the so called Good who run this town, it looks as if here is someone who is doing something for others rather than herself.
For those who are interested check out Tendring Council`s deprivation statistics - Walton wins hands down on early death rates and just 5 minutes from Frinton. Shame on you councillors that on your watch it comes down to food banks. Food kitchens next?
Well done Jane Robinson.

as there are pockets of deprivation in most towns these days, your scheme must be a lifesaver for some.
