Great Holland: Benches set to commemorate Queen's Diamond Jubilee

JUBILEE fundraisers from Great Holland bought two new benches to commemorate the occasion in the village.

The two teak benches have been inscribed with text commemorating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and will be installed outside the gate at All Saints Church on Church Lane.

They cost a combined £920, which came from the profit made at the jubilee event in Great Holland.

Frinton and Walton Town Council will fork out £500 to cover installation costs and take responsibility of maintenance of the benches.

Mayor Mark Cossens said: “I sometimes think we don’t spend enough in our villages and I think that would be an excellent use for the funds.”
