Frinton: Council claims developers are to blame for building hold up

TENDRING Council claims a developer is responsible for delays to the building of 13 new flats in Frinton.

Plans have been approved for the demolition of Frinton’s former Masonic hall, and for the new apartments to be built in its place at Frinton Park Court.

But Tendring Council says the project has been delayed because Frinton Park Court Development Ltd has not supplied the necessary information.

The company had previously indicated it considered the council to blame for holding up scheme.

The site of the hall is surrounded by Pedlars Wood nature reserve.

Developers need to provide information on the safeguards which need be put in place to protect the nature reserve.

Council leader Peter Halliday said: “The council is as keen as anyone to see this site progressed but we must ensure the correct processes are followed.”
