Frinton: Councillors reject seafront flat plans

PLANS to demolish a seafront building to build five new flats have been rejected by town councillors.

Developers want to tear down the building on the corner of the Esplanade in Frinton to make way for the new homes.

But Frinton and Walton Town Council recommended refusal of the project.

Vanda Watling said: “Do we really want our seafront to be made up of nothing but apartment buildings? That’s the way we are going.

“There is no good reason for knocking the current building down. They just want to make it easier to get more people living there.”

Tendring Council will have the final say on the proposal.
