Clacton: Library renamed to reflect the community

A SCHOOL library has been renamed at a special ceremony.
The library at Clacton Coastal Academy’s Jaywick Lane site was still named Bishops Park Library, despite Bishops Park joining with Colbayns to create the new academy in 2009.
But the name of the library has now been switched to West Clacton Library.
The ceremony was set up by staff and students as a Chinese New Year themed community event.
Essex County councillor Jeremy Lucas said: “There have been a number of changes to the school over recent years.
“It was felt in light of these changes it would be a good idea to rename the library and ensure the service continues to reflect the community it serves.”
A consultation was held last year and it has now been officially renamed.
