RESIDENTS in Clacton will be given the chance to question council bosses next week.

Tendring Council’s cabinet members will be taking part in the Question Time event at St James Church Hall, in Tower Road, next Tuesday, March 5.

The initiative has already taken place in Holland-on-Sea and Harwich.

Council leader Peter Halliday said: “We have had more than 40 residents turn out for each of the previous two Question Times and we are hoping for a similar audience next week.

“It has been a very interesting exercise and I feel it has worked well by going out into the community – rather than expecting residents to come to us.

“I am sure that people in Clacton will have plenty of subjects they want to raise with us.”

Other meetings, which all take place from 7pm to 9pm, are planned for Homelands Free Church Hall, in Walton, on March 12, Colne Community School, in Brightlingsea, on May 8, and the Venture Centre, in Lawford, on May 29.

Mr Halliday added that the cabinet members may go out to other towns and villages later this year.
