AN inspirational Walton headteacher has been picked to speak about his experiences at the prestigious Education Show 2013.

Benedick Ashmore-Short took over at the struggling Hamford Primary Academy last year while it was in special measures.

He oversaw the school’s transformation into an academy and vowed to turn it around.

Mr Ashmore-Short has now been asked to join a panel of inspirational school leaders to discuss the future of education at the Education Show in March.

He has worked in education for 12 years, including spending time with the Academies Enterprise Trust, and will speak about the positive impact becoming an academy can have on a school.

He said: “It is a great honour to be asked and I’m looking forward to sharing my journey and experiences at Hamford and the positive transformation we have undergone as an academy.”

Education Show director Anita Pal said: “At the Education Show, we recognise that often the best lessons can be learnt from those that have been there and done that.

“We are excited to welcome speakers such as Benedick to this year’s show who can offer insightful and valuable comment.”
