Walton: Cabbie's tyres slashed in overnight attack

A WALTON cabbie discovered his tyres had been slashed when he went to pick up his first fare of the day.

Stuart Rogerson, of Clays Road in Walton, tried to drive his taxi at about 6.40am on Friday February 15.

But he found that the two tyres on the passenger side had been stabbed and were completely flat.

The car had been parked at the seafront end of Connaught Avenue in Frinton overnight.

Mr Rogerson, 55, said: “I found the problem when I tried to drive my cab.

“I was disgusted that someone would do something so low. Much of our early work concerns people with medical or work appointments, as well as school runs.

“These people rely on us. Like any criminal scumbag this idiot has thought of themselves and no one else.”

The new tyres cost £116, and lost Stuart three hours of work.

He added: “I have no idea who would want to do this and the whole episode was very annoying and extremely frustrating.”

The vandalism happened between 6pm on Thursday February 14 and 6.30am the following day.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
