Hospital road to close for improvement works

AN access road at Clacton Hospital will be closed for two weekends for improvement works next month.

The road will be closed on March 2 and 3 for resurfacing and on March 9 and 10 for white lines to be painted, following drainage works.

There will be limited access to the public pay and display car park over the two weekends, during which there will be no parking charges.

During the work there will be no access to the hospital via Tower Road and patients and staff will be redirected via Marine Parade West.

A spokesman said: “This work will particularly inconvenience patients attending the minor injuries unit or doctors out-of-hours service.

“Provision has been made for additional security and alternative access to support patients safely into and out of the building whilst this work is taking place.

“The primary care trust apologies for any inconvenience this essential maintenance work will cause.”
