Chinese dragon invades Walton high street
SCHOOLCHILDREN gave passers-by in Walton a shock by marching into the high street with a giant Chinese Dragon.
The youngsters from Walton Primary School kicked off their new topic of learning about China by creating the spectacular dragon.
They constructed it with the help of learning support assistant Emma Dean and paraded it through Walton High Street on Monday morning.
Headteacher Suzie Bliss said: “We were starting our new topic and it tied in nicely with the Chinese new year.
“We sent a text to parents saying what we were doing and a lot of them came to watch. It was fantastic.
“It looked great. Everyone worked very hard on it and the children were very excited to take it out into the town.
“The weather wasn’t too bad when we left, but we came back through a mix of rain, sleet and blizzard, but the children loved it."
