Youngsters gear up for half-term fun

YOUNGSTERS are set for a busy week of half-term events at sports centres across Tendring.
Sessions will be run from Tendring Council sports centres and pools between February 18 and 23.
Children can choose from a whole host of sessions including football, tennis, karate, cricket, dodgeball and handball tasters, canoeing, wall climbing, basketball, roller disco, trampolining, squash, street dance, bouncy castle and arts and crafts.
There will be football fun with Colchester United at Clacton Leisure Centre on February 18 and 19.
Brightlingsea Sports Centre is staging a junior Olympics for seven to ten-year-olds over the same two days with gold, silver and bronze medals up for grabs.
Clacton Leisure Centre is offering £1 per person pay and play on the tennis courts and the Astroturf pitch.
Clacton, Frinton and Walton and Dovercourt swimming pools are staging various activities during the week, including inflatables, crash-course swimming lessons and Waterwalkerz.
Activities are also being staged at council centres at Brightlingsea, Clacton, Dovercourt, Harwich, Frinton and Walton, and Manningtree. Full details can be found online at tendringdc.gov.uk.
