POLICE have stepped up patrols in Frinton after two houses were raided by burglars.

The houses, both in Frinton’s Frietuna Estate, were targeted by crooks in January.

In both cases the burglars gained entry by forcing their way through doors at the back of the property, stealing electrical equipment and jewellery.

Sgt Pete Gerard said: “Both houses were actually on the main roads through the Frietuna Estate, and I would like to ask for residents to be alert to all movements in the area and report anything they find suspicious.

“We want to nip this in the bud at the earliest opportunity. We have patrolled the location extensively since the burglaries and have called on 120 houses to give crime prevention advice to occupants.”

Anyone who spots anything suspicious or has information on the burglaries should contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
