THE air ambulance was called out after a woman was hit by a car in Clacton.
The collision happened on London Road just after 7am.
A woman in her 40s was treated at the scene and then airlifted to Colchester General Hospital by the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
The road was partially blocked for several hours, eventually reopening at about 11.30am.
There are no further details on the woman’s condition.
