EIGHT new beach huts could be built on a redundant site on Clacton seafront.
Tendring Council wants to use the raised concrete platform, near Trafalgar Road, for huts.
Part of the site will continue to be used by the neighbouring seafront kiosk as a picnic area.
A report says demand for beach huts in the district has remained high despite the economic downturn.
The new beach huts will be named after old lifeboats that have served the town over the years.
A decision on the proposals is expected to be made in March.
