MORE than 40 new volunteers have signed up to help vulnerable people in Clacton.
Community Voluntary Services Tendring hosted a special recruitment day backed by charities based at its centre in Rosemary Road.
The event was supported by Age UK Essex, the Alzheimers Society Tendring, Essex Carers Support and Family Support Clacton, which are all based at the CVST centre.
CVST chairman Brenda Ellis said: “The volunteer recruitment day was a great success with each of the organisations represented signing up an average of six new volunteers.
“This really goes to show how many people in our local community are willing to give up their time for a good cause”.
The volunteer roles available range from befriending and support work to administration.
