Council delays budget decision

A COUNCIL meeting has been postponed because of a delay in government figures.

Members of Essex County Council were due to meet next Tuesday to vote on the authority’s budget for the coming financial year.

But the meeting has been put back one week as the county council is still waiting for final confirmation from the government about the level of funding it will receive.

  • The meeting will now be held on Tuesday February 12 in the council chamber at County Hall, Chelmsford, from 10am.

the council have decided that anyone on benefits now has to pay council tax according to what is their whim. Where is the article about this decision? Is it awful that people who are on disability benefits now feel embarrassed to mention it? This world has become a really nasty place!!!
