Skate ramp green light for Thorpe
A NEW skate ramp will be built in Thorpe after parish councillors secured thousands of pounds in grant cash.
The long-awaited equipment has been given the green light and will be built on the Lady Nelson playing field.
Thorpe Parish Council launched plans for the ramp several years ago.
It has now secured the necessary funding after being handed £8,000 from Essex County Council’s big society fund and £4,500 from Tendring Council.
The ramp is designed to be used by skateboards, BMX bikes and micro scooters.
Poor weather has delayed the project slightly, but work is now set to start in February or March.
