IF you ever wondered what Clacton was like more than 70 years ago, amateur film footage of the resort should be a fascinating eye-opener.
Archive material from 1939 to the Sixties is being screened for the first time at the Princes Theatre tonight.
'Blackouts, Redcoats and Carnivals' brings the resort back to life with rarely seen footage.
The event also includes the Essex premiere of ‘My Generation’ - a look at post-war teenagers - and other short films.
They have been compiled by heritage organisation Norwich HEART.
The screening takes place at 7.30pm. Admission is free.
