Clacton man faces trial after denying drive-by shooting
12:09pm Friday 18th January 2013 in News
TWO men are to face trial next month over an alleged drive-by shooting outside a Colchester bar.
Dean Edwards and Michael Cooper will return to Chelmsford Crown Court for what is listed to be a five day trial starting on February 25.
They are both accused of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life outside the TP Sports Bar in Queen Street, Colchester.
Cooper, 40, of Russell Road, Clacton, and Edwards, 38, of Convent Close, Braintree, deny the charge.
There was no application for bail and they were both remanded in custody following a short hearing.
The charges follow an incident outside the bar at around 2.20am on September 15 last year when three shots were allegedly fired.
