Clacton's history set to hit the big screen

CLACTON’S history will be brought to life in a special big-screen film showing.

Heritage group Norwich Heart has been working on its Digital Heritage Project, converting historic footage into digital films.

A special screening of Clacton-based films will take place at the Princes Theatre on Friday January 18.

The evening will feature a range of films featuring Clacton between 1939 and the 60s, including footage of a war time Christmas, Butlins and Clacton Carnival.

A documentary called My Generation will also be shown, which highlights the clashes between mods and rockers in Clacton in 1964.

Doors will open at 6.45pm and the films will start at 7.30pm.

Entry will be free and people will not have to book tickets in advance.

Hollywood blockbuster coming up!

In a small seaside town resort, in England, where murdering, state ponsing, un-educated, drug effected low-life, meet their match against the might of the pensioner revolution.
