A VOLUNTEERS’ organisation in Tendring is marking its 40th anniversary by inviting more people to volunteer.

Community Voluntary Services Tendring has been supporting the local charities since 1973.

It will use its anniversary to host a recruitment day, encouraging more people to give up their time to benefit others.

Samantha Wootton, from CVS Tendring said: “Anyone looking for a new challenge for the New Year, or wanting to give something back to their community is invited to come along and find out about a wide range of volunteering opportunities across the Tendring district.

“It can be quite daunting finding the right volunteering opportunity, but this open event aims to get over that hurdle and introduce new opportunities that everyone can get involved with.

“There will be lots of great ideas to inspire people including opportunities that will enable them to gain experience and training for their CV.”

The volunteer recruitment day will be held at the CVS Tendring Community Information Centre on January 26 from 10am and 2pm.

The event is being organised by CVS Tendring along with Essex Carer’s Support, Family Support Clacton, the Alzheimer’s Society Tendring and Age UK Essex.
