CROOKS snatched a games console in a raid on a house in Clacton.
Thieves climbed into the James Road house through a ground floor window between 5pm on Sunday December 9 and 9am on Tuesday December 11.
Police have repeated warnings for residents to secure their homes properly to deter crooks.
Investigating officer Det Con Jo Mangham said: “Burglaries are distressing for homeowners as their privacy and security have been invaded by strangers which invariably makes them uncomfortable.
“People must lock up properly. If you have a uPVC door, then push the handle up to engage the additional bolts and then use the key to lock it. Only by locking with the key do you fully secure your door.”
A forensic examination was carried out at the scene.
Anyone with information should contact detectives at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
