THAI students combined with their Brightlingsea hosts to perform a dance written to celebrate the two schools’ links.

English National Ballet tutors directed pupils from the Colne Community School and College and the Wangnamyen High School in a special workshop.

The dancers performed traditional and contemporary dance pieces from The Phoenix and the Mirror, celebrating the six year partnership between the two schools during the third visit to England by Thai students and teachers.

Judy Wakeling, vice-principal of the Colne College, said: “We’re delighted at the success of this now long-standing link which brings both sets of students into direct contact with a very different and rich culture and enables them to see and experience something quite new.”

Wangnamyen High School in Sa Kaeo province, close to the Thailand border with Cambodia, has around 2,000 students.
