Rescue teams alerted as man threatens to jump from pier

POLICE were called after a man threatened to jump off the pier at Clacton yesterday afternoon.
The Coastguard was alerted just after 2pm and called for the lifeboat.
Police apprehended the man before rescue teams were scrambled.
