Massive solar farm plans for Tendring

SOLAR farms producing electricity to power 4,750 homes are planned for Tendring.

A total of 40,000 power-generating panels could be installed on fields at Chisbon Heath, in Frowick Lane, between Great Bentley and St Osyth.

Sladburys Farm, between Holland-on-Sea and Great Holland, has also been earmarked for thousands of solar panels.

Energy firms want to lease the land from the farms to create the solar parks.

The solar panels would be installed on farmland currently used for crops and generate enough electricity to power thousands of homes.

A public exhibition on the Frowick Lane plans will be held at the Blue Sari, Chisbon Heath, on Saturday November 17, 2-5pm.

An exhibition on the Sladburys Farm plans will be held at Great Holland Village Hall on Wednesday November 14, 4.30-6.30pm.
