Leaf recycling scheme success in Frinton

FRINTON residents have been scooping leaves from the town’s paths to recycle.

The annual scheme is run by Frinton in Bloom, and sees thousands of leaves collected from the pavements by volunteers.

They are then composted and re-used as soil on the gardens around the town.

Frinton in Bloom chairman David Foster said: “Every year we recycle all kinds of things, and at this time of year we collect the leaves up.

“The leaves start to clutter up the paths and pavements at this time of year, making them quite slippery.

“But instead of wasting them this is a good chance to make use of them.

“It is all part and parcel of the work we do with Frinton in Bloom to make sure the town is as good as it can be.”
