Jaywick community garden to host memorial service

A JAYWICK garden put together by residents will host a remembrance service on November 11.

The Meadow Way memorial garden was created by residents in September in tribute to Rene Tully, a popular member of the community who died earlier in the year.

One of the residents who put the garden together, Bill Dyer, says it has been a popular addition to the community.

He said: “We have had so many people coming to the garden and adding plaques and flowers for their loved ones.

“This is exactly what we had in mind when we made the garden. We wanted to give people somewhere peaceful to mourn and pay their respects.

“Now we have arranged the remembrance service her for all the people who cannot get to Clacton, and we are hoping for a really good turn out.”

The service will start at 10.45am at the garden, and crosses and poppies will be available.
