Mobility scooter stolen in raid on Jaywick house

A JAYWICK house was targeted by crooks in an overnight raid.

It happened between 8pm on Tuesday October 30 and 4am on Wednesday.

The crooks broke into the house on Hillman Avenue and stole two mobile phones and a two-figure sum of cash.

The thieves also pinched a red Shoprider mobility scooter which had been parked outside the house.

Investigating officer Det Con Roger Henderson said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this scooter being used or who may have been offered the scooter or mobiles for sale.”

Anyone with information should contact detectives at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

I saw a man on a red mobility scooter. He was around 85 years old flat cap and braces. Doing at least 5mph.

Seriously, you have to be pretty desperate to nick a 2 figure sum of money and a vehicle capable of such minimal speed & value. Sub-human scum.
