2:19pm Wednesday 31st October 2012 in News
DETECTIVES are appealing for information following two burglaries in Tendring.
In the latest incident, burglars smashed their way into a home in Garden City, Lawford.
They used a stone to smash a door window and then unlocked the door using a key that was in the lock.
A safe, jewellery and a laptop computer were stolen.
Investigating Officer, Dc Jo Mangham, said the safe was later found dumped at Colchester’s Highwoods Country Park.
The incident took place between 8am and 4pm on Tuesday.
The second break-in happened in London Road, Clacton, between 10am and 3.30pm. A watch and a ring were stolen.
Investigating officer, Det Con Jo Mangham, said: "As well as seeking witnesses to both burglaries we’re also keen for those who saw the safe being dumped at Highwoods during the afternoon.”
She said forensic examinations were carried out as were house-to-house enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
