Charity cyclists from Ladbrokes raise thousands for Starlight

STAFF from a Frinton betting shop braved a torrential downpour to take on a massive sponsored bike ride for charity.
A handful of workers from the Ladbrokes shop in Connaught Avenue cycled a 25-mile route around Colchester to boost the coffers of Starlight Children’s Foundation.
They raised more than £1,000 through sponsorship, which was doubled to £2,000 by the Ladbrokes head office.
Manager Denise Gould said: “We got out there and it absolutely poured with rain. We were soaked and it was really hard work.
“I’m really proud of our efforts and it makes it all worthwhile seeing the result."
