X Factor success for our Greg West from District 3

AN X Factor finalist from Dovercourt is through to next week’s show.

Greg West, a former Harwich and Manningtree pupil whose family is from Clacton, is part of boy band District 3.

The trio got enough votes from the public to make it through another week of the popular ITV television show.

Greg and his band mates Micky Parsons and Dan Ferrari-Lane sang a mash-up of Police’s Every Breath You Take and Neyo’s Beautiful Monster during the Halloween special.

Judge Tulisa Contostavlos told the boys: “I absolutely loved it when you started off. When you turned into Neyo, because of all the dance moves, you lost control of the vocals.

“All in all, it was a good performance.”

Gary Barlow said he felt the performance was a “massive leap backwards” despite last week’s successful show and that it was a “musical mess”.
